I always like the start of a New Year. I love the idea of limitless possibilities! Though you could say the same for each new day, couldn’t you?
At this time of year, I like to reflect on the year just past, and dream a bit about the year ahead. And set some goals, too.
reflecting back on 2020
Well, that was a year, wasn’t it? Not sure what your experience was, but overall, I had a pretty good year! Yes, it was disappointing to cancel some travel plans. Yes it was disappointing not to celebrate with family over the holidays. But really, I had a pretty good year.
First, I am so grateful for health. No one in my immediate family got sick with Covid-19. Some extended family members did get Covid, but didn’t need to be hospitalized, and seem to have recovered fully. So far I have remained completely healthy. I am able to walk, run, get out for shopping, and so on. And I feel very fortunate to go to work! As a Public Health Nurse (my day job), we aren’t dealing directly with the sickest people – it’s primarily a wellness program. Sure, there have been exposures, but we are at relatively low risk where I am. And this week we started to provide Covid-19 vaccine – it feels momentous and historic to be part of that.
Secondly, we had a joyous occasion in our family that could not be stopped by that nasty little virus. My daughter and her fiance went ahead with their wedding plans, with modifications. And it turned out wonderfully.
Thirdly, I experienced a lot of personal growth in 2020. Through the Master Key Experience program, which I started in 2018, I have had a lot of gains. I am more confident, and feel more ready for success. Together with another member, we produced and presented an educational book study with a course of webinars over a 10 week period. I had TWO international interviews! First as part of Master Key Experience, where I was interviewed by two young gentlemen from Australia (Global Heroes – link HERE). Second, I was interviewed for a Camino de Santiago Pilgrims Podcast by Bradley Chermside in the UK. I had been listening to his podcast and really enjoying it – when I thought, why not me? You can listen to that HERE. And if you want to learn more about the Master Key Experience, I have a website about that also: www.arlenelaskey.me – check it out.
I am not listing those accomplishments to brag, I am just so thankful that I have blessed with good health, a worthwhile job, family, and personal growth. I hope you can all see some positives in your life as well.
As the Cashback Coach, maybe my story isn’t as rosy. But I have been progressing here as well. I joined an online networking group and have made some fabulous connections. I participated in a Network Marketing Course. Though my business hasn’t taken off as much as I hoped (just being real), I feel more confident than ever that I have something of value to offer, and that I am now well positioned and prepared to help a lot of people in a lot of ways. Ask me about it!
planning for 2021
I always set goals in January for the year to come. This year, I looked at it a bit differently. Being more kind to myself, I used the headings: Loving Myself and My Body, Loving my Home and Family, Loving my Business, and Loving my Financial Health.
And I do have some ambitious goals for my business. I really feel that I can help so many people, through Cashback World. I can help shoppers to be Smarter Shoppers and earn cashback, saving a lot of money on their everyday expenses. I can help people who are challenged financially, by offering a home business (a Plan B) where they can benefit with tax benefits and income. I can help small business owners to expand their by joining our Shopping Community.
If you know of anyone who might benefit, I would greatly appreciate a referral. I like to thank anyone who helps to spread the word with a Cashback World voucher, to spend at a favourite store or restaurant.
Other items on my Goal List: more travel (I hope), more time with family and friends, continue to work on personal development through Master Key Experience, take care of finances and save up for a few special projects.
What’s on YOUR goal list? I would love to chat and hear what your 2020 experience was like, and what you want to work on for 2021. Send me a message if you would like to connect.
All the best for the New Year, and Happy Shopping!
