I have heard that before – the more things change, the more they remain the same. Sound familiar?
I came across an article today entitled “Direct Sales as a Recession Fallback.” The article, from the New York Times, talks about how direct sales, or a network marketing home business, can be a good way to supplement the family income, help to pay the bills or the debts, maybe bring in cash after a family member has lost their job. The writer says that in times of recession, more people join these kind of companies.
One woman said: “We decided we needed to be proactive and put together our own bailout plan. We are putting it all into savings until we find out if my husband is getting laid off. If he keeps his job, we will use it to pay down our debt.” That’s one smart woman!
The article lists some of the benefits of a home business: low start-up costs, the chance for higher incomes when you build a team, and more. The writer calls these businesses ‘recession-resistant.’
The article was written in 2009. Sounds like it could have been written today!
And how does this relate to Cashback World? Our business is truly recession-resistant. Our business is based on everyday shopping. Even in tough times, people still buy groceries. Maybe even more if they are stocking up. And they still put gas in their car (maybe not as much if they are staying at home more) and still use electricity and natural gas. And the online shopping has been crazy during the pandemic. Why not get cashback on all the shopping that you and your family does? And if you join the business, you also earn when your friends go shopping! They get cashback, you earn income! How great is that?!
Oh, and when times are better – our business is also inflation-proof! When people spend more, you earn more – as income is directly related to shopping!
I would list a few more benefits as well. Joining a group of positive thinkers, helping small business owners (so important right now), being part of a global shopping community, contributing to charities simply by shopping, earning huge tax refunds, having something meaningful to do – something that helps others and makes an positive impact for your own family.
Sounds pretty easy, right? It actually is. And I would love to chat with you about it, to see if this might be a fit for you – send me a message here.
